Really nice to hear some new Herv considering he’s been quiet for a while. This is all old-school rave, bleep Ceephax acid and Druqs ambience. It serves as a ten minute taster for his new album coming in March 2009.

Alphabet Set & Acroplane present DISAMBIGUATION. This is a 13-track compilation of Irish electronic artists like T-Polar, Bluefood, Sarsparilla, Filaria, Prince Kong, Herv, Lakker, Startslow and T-Woc. Mary Ann Hobbs played a couple of tunes from the release from Prince Kong and T-Polar last week. Here are two of my favourites to give you a taster.

Here’s a gig I’m looking forward to. A behemoth of a line-up with Venezuela-born Miguel Trost Depedro aka Kid 606 kicking out the glitchy breakcore jams with able support from my favourite Irish electronic artist Herv and new boi Creator (see mp3 below).
I’ve never been at a Kid 606 gig before so I’m really looking forward to it. Next week, thanks to Fire at Night Promotions, Come back here and you can get the live sets from the night for your own personal repeat-listening pleasure. For now, you can sample three tunes displaying the scope which Kid 606 takes his sound. However, expect a healthy barrage of beats and breaks this Friday night.

Kid 606 - Let it Rock (Pretty Girls make Raves, 2006)

While we’re on the subject there’s a teasure trove of albums by quality electronic artists being released through Netlab which aims to be an audiovisual assault system, fueled by user submission through a Creative Commons License.
27 artists have contributed thus far. Here’s some of the highlights:
The Schwarzenegger Series - releases inspired by Arnie and his films. Ebola’s Predator a 6 track dubstep-jungle/gabba workout, inspired by the film ???Predator???. Check out Chris Moss Acid’s Commando riposte, Ital Tek’s Terminator 2 tribute or Synthamesk’s Raw Deal Arnie-toting release.
DJ Jo Quaid’s 29 minute of cassette-mastered 8bit classics.
The admittedly rather unpleasant mix of Romanian Folk and digital noise that is Romanian Myth....

You betcha. The debut album from Super Extra Bonus Party is being released this week and is without a doubt, one of the most diverse and eclectic Irish albums of recent memory. Before I continue, a caveat: I’m best mates with the band. In fact I live with them, make their artwork and visuals and darn their socks. Mike from the band is a occasional contributor to the blog. Cries of favouritism could be levelled at me but the advantage of having an mp3 blog is that you, the reader, can judge for yourself by listening to the tunes. I genuinely believe my previous statement about the album and here’s why.
A few years ago, I had no faith in the Irish music scene. It was part ignorance and part disappointment at the lack of originality on display in music venues around the...

Excellent vid for Herv’s ‘lost me’ by the dude(ttes) at Polygon Farmer
Here’s one that’s been sitting on my jiggawhat for quite a while now, and probably lying around a lot longer according to it’s creator, Herv. This Dublin-based laptop wizard has been knocking about for a few years now, churning out an impressive number of quality releases (including Customer the sublime nialler9 readers top-ten Irish release), and making the hordes go spastic wherever he’s brought his electrifying one-man gameboy mash-fest. I’ve felt compelled to do a post on this for a while, but haven’t really had the time, and I’m sure you’ll think it worth the wait. What you have basically is a 31 minute mix of some of Herv’s older, less...
